In recent years, technology design has shifted from usability to broadly consider the human experience. Using mixed methods, we use a research-through-design approach that is contextual and iterative. This allows us to consider “wicked” problems, difficult real-world research questions in real world contexts, often with unclear or conflicting agendas and messy solutions.

We have worked in a variety of contexts, from designing theme park experiences at Disney Research, to making social VR experiences for cultural heritage, and supporting military and defense language needs for the United States government.

Although every approach is slightly different, our design process consists of first gathering user and context requirements, then prototyping and testing design solutions in an iterative process.
